Michael school cooperation
In Georgia, it is still unusual for children with special needs to have the opportunity to attend school. Disabled children are typically hidden away in homes or sent away to institutions. The Michael School in Tbilisi is a school that runs activities for the mentally disabled, where 90 children are given their lessons. It has been established for more than ten years and has a standby contact in Sweden with the healing teaching school Mikaelgården, which backed up the activity. The East-West Group of SOFIA is working with the question of how the Michael School and other initiatives can be supported to develop future activities for the young adults who graduate from the school.
